5150 Campaign – Session 1a – Rebel Scum

The following is a quick introduction to the new campaign.
I hope you enjoy.
--- 000 ---

“Rebel scum!!!” Lieutenant Colonel Crane barks as he slams his fist down on the table.
“Exactly,” Sector Commander Halsey agrees. “Crane you are tasked to take control of Abydos and to bring it back into the Empire.”
Lieutenant Colonel Crane smiles with anticipation of the upcoming campaign. He recites the Star Army creed back to Halsey in recognition of his instruction, “We’ll take the war to the enemy, one planet at a time.”
Sector Commander Halsey continues, “Fisher, you’ll clear the way and get Crane onto the ground.”
A rye smile draws across Fisher’s face in acknowledgement.
Halsey continues, “Abydos is a terraforming planet. After two decades, the planet is reaching the final stages and NOW the impetuous locals believe they should have their independence rather than to remain part of the Gaea Prime Empire. Enemy forces are unknown, but it is suspected that they’ve got Hishen support.”
“There are five planets in the system but only Abydos has been terraformed. The rest, as far as we know, are uninhabited. Abydos has four moons and they may have established colonies upon them. There has been no central government survey of the planet since it’s discovery.”

“Crane you will take your 54th Star Army Infantry Battalion and secure all major sites on the planet and put down any insurgency. Admiral Fisher, your aircraft carrier, the Warspite, will be reinforced by the cruiser Achilles, the destroyer Ajax and the frigate Exeter. You’ll protect and convoy the 54ths transport ships to the sector, neutralise any enemy navel forces and provide fire and logistical support to the ground forces as necessary.”
“Gentlemen, you have 12 months to achieve your objectives.”
Crane and Fisher snap to attention and with a “Whoa” from Crane and a “Aye Aye” from Fisher they turn and leave.

  1. Well Crane and Fisher look nasty pieces of work and no mistake. Good background to your new campaign.
Does this mean that the zombies are having a rest?

    1. Hey John. No the zombie campaign is still going. I've just ordered a couple of models that I've been waiting for. It seems like forever but they'll turn up sooner or later I guess. But in the mean time this will keep me busy.

    1. Thanks. I figured that a little introduction was in order. I've got a couple of little intro pieces planned whilst in the background I'm painting up the fleet. It's getting there. I'll should be able to get a few pics of a few models in the next post I think.

  3. Very cool bit of scene setting Tim, and we're left in no doubt about the objectives for the Imperial forces - bring on the action! :-)
